Game Designer on E-Sol

An educational mobile game that interacts with pollution databases across Europe. The game won the MyGeoss grant and Innovative App Award from the European Comission with which we built a prototype.

The game gives players a virtual pet plant named ‘Sunny’ who they will need to take care of and protect from the dangers of air pollution. Players can temporarily trade their plant with players in other countries in order to receive rewards and encourage a sense of European responsibility for our environment. The amount of virtual air pollution affecting players’ plants will be directly informed by data gathered from the GEOS Portal. Players will be able to view this data in a fun way to learn about cross-European levels of air quality.

My role in this project was fluid. I ran an ideation workshop to find creative applications for European data then developed the pitch for the winning idea. During development I directed the art team and ensured the design met high standards. Developed during my time at Ludic House.
